Citroen C5 moving to China

Group PSA Peugeot-Citroen prepares replacing obsolescent family Citroen C5. The publication Automotive News reported that the new model of the French will be oriented mainly to the market in China, and most likely will not be available in Europe.
“In the nearest time Citroen will dramatically upgrade the entire family C5, as models of it will be assembled and sold in China and some other Asian countries,” says the boss of Citroen Linda Johnson.
The main reason for this decision of the company’s continuing decline in sales of midsize cars (mostly sedans) in Europe. With each passing year, these cars are displaced from gaining greater popularity SUV.
Johnson reveals that in 2014 Europe sold nearly 17,911 units of sedan and station wagon C5, whose last generation came back in 2008. This is 27% less than 2013. In the same time, interest and crossover SUVs on the continent increased by 21%. Currently C5 takes 9th place in popularity in its segment.
